As mentioned in our blog post entitled “ASPS Presentations: Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty,†Dr. Sullivan notes his experience presenting at this year’s American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) meeting. He addressed surgical facial and neck rejuvenation in a cosmetic session module and discussed lower eyelid blepharoplasty in a separate panel. Dr. Sullivan felt honored to be a part of the meeting and to be asked to present his techniques to a large group of nationally and internationally renowned surgeons.
During his cosmetic session, Dr. Sullivan addressed the question of “Can a necklift be done in isolation from a facelift?†His overall message communicated the importance of performing neck lifts along with facelifts to ensure a beautiful artistic balance between the face and the neck. While some people seeking facial rejuvenation can reach their goals with just one of the procedures, Dr. Sullivan explains combining both facelift and neck lift typically provides the most natural-looking results. Otherwise he said “it may be like just painting the lower half of the room” or as a patient said: “it’s like having new pants and an old jacket”.

Below are photos of a patient who had facial rejuvenation in conjunction with neck surgery. He was also kind enough to give an interview at our last Patient Seminar.
