The name Edesia is the Roman Goddess of Food and the name is appropriate for this wonderful organization. Navyn has a goal to end malnutrition worldwide. Her goal was ambitious but with her wit, drive, and determination her goal became a reality. With her roots from Tanzania, she was inspired by her father and grandparents and had the desire to give back to a malnutrition country like East Africa.
Navyn increased access to Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods (RUTFs) in developing countries with a peanut-based solution made of simple ingredients: peanuts, sugar, vegetable oil, whey, minerals and vitamins. In addition to its simple ingredient product, it does not require water or refrigeration that in many parts of these developing countries lack these resources.
Edesia’s range of high-quality products are distributed by large humanitarian organizations such as UNICEF, the World Food Programme, the US Department of Agriculture, and the US Agency for International Development.
