A patient who had previously received cosmetic treatment on only her lower face and neck once came into our office saying, “I feel like I have a new skirt but I’m wearing an old blouse.” The problem wasn’t that the upper portion of her face looked any worse; instead, the issue was how the upper region of her face was now artistically mismatched and contrasted with her beautifully rejuvenated lower face.
This patient’s depiction of the way she felt is an excellent analogy for how addressing one particular area of the face can affect the entire aesthetic balance of the face. At our practice, Dr. Sullivan always provides patients with a number of treatment options once he has listened to their cosmetic goals and fully understands their specific concerns. While he ultimately performs the procedure or combination of procedures the patient chooses, his highest recommendation takes careful consideration of the artistic facial balance of each specific patient and involves a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation.
With a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation, Dr. Sullivan can address multiple areas of concern (i.e. the neck, jowls, cheeks, eyelid region, etc.) all at once, which can be particularly beneficial for the patient in three distinct ways: artistically, financially, and pragmatically. For an elaboration on these three benefits, be sure to stay tuned for our next blog post in which we’ll detail each one specifically.
An example of a patient who chose to go forward with this comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation is shown below. To view additional before and after photos and for more information about her procedure please see our facial rejuvenation gallery. To view a video of this patient discussing her surgery please see our blog entitled “Dr. Sullivan and Facial Rejuvenation Patient Featured on Channel 10 News”.
