What are the different types of lip fillers?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers are the most commonly used lip fillers. HA is a naturally occurring substance found in the body that hydrates and helps moisturize and fill the skin. It holds up to 1000 times its weight in water. That’s why it’s such an effective treatment to plump the lips and provide pillowy volume.

How much filler should I have injected?
How much filler is injected depends on your aesthetic goals AND what your lips are like now anatomically. Based on the look you’re hoping for, we will suggest the amount that will best create the right volume. In general, 0.5ml to 1 ml of filler is usually used for your first treatment. This amount provides a more natural look. You can boost this amount afterward if it appears appropriate artistically.
How soon do you see lip filler results?
Your results are nearly immediate. You will have some swelling for the first 24 to 48 hours or so, which will cause them to look bigger at first than they ultimately will once the swelling settles.
Are lip fillers safe?
Lip fillers are considered a safe treatment. However, you will want to be sure your injector is very experienced and expert in facial injections, facial anatomy, and has an excellent history with previous clients.
It’s important that you choose a plastic surgeon or certified nurse injector who is properly qualified, positively reviewed, and able to supply appropriate before and after shots to help you decide whether you like their work.
Do lip fillers hurt?
Lip fillers can be uncomfortable, but they are not usually described as painful. We use numbing techniques to make the lips less sensitive during the treatment. After your treatment, your lips will feel sore and swollen for a couple of days. This is usual and expected, and quickly fades.
How long do lip fillers last?
This question depends on how quickly your body metabolizes the HA filler. This is different for everyone, but in general, dermal fillers last between 6-12 months. Don’t sleep on your face or allow pressure on your lips. To help your results last as long as possible, don’t put pressure, pull on or massage your lips just after the procedure.
