Procedure:
Bilateral Gynecomastia Surgery with Ultrasonic Body Contouring and Excision of Soft Tissue
Patient concerns:
This 27-year-old gentleman was concerned about the size and shape of his breasts. He first noticed changes in his breasts after taking a growth enhancement medication for muscle development. The patient noted that his breasts remained enlarged even years after he stopped taking this medication.
Procedure notes:
This patient’s gynecomastia surgery was performed in our Providence operatory using intravenous sedation, rather than general anesthesia. His gynecomastia procedure involved both ultrasonic liposuction and surgical excision of excessive tissue. The excessive glandular tissue was removed via a very small incision made at the lower part of the nipple areola complex (i.e., a small periareolar incision). The incisions were carefully placed to minimize scarring in his breast area.
This patient’s breasts were significantly reduced following his gynecomastia procedure. He is now one year post operative and has a better breast contour. He also notes much improved symmetry.
“This is the best investment I have ever made,” said the patient. “I am comfortable in all situations now and could not be happier with the result.”
