YearUp in the News! - Patrick Sullivan, M.D. Skip to main content

Back in 2011, I blogged about a wonderful organization that my team and I support:  YearUp Providence – an incredible non-profit national organization introduced to Rhode Island by Paul Salem. It is an intensive educational training program for low-income adults. The year long program involves the ability for young individuals to receive college credits, internships with some of the top corporations and businesses in the state, and receive work development skills to be successful in the classroom and in the workplace. Some of Year Upâ€s local corporate partners include Hasbro, Covidien, Bank of America, Cox Communications, Brown University, Community College of Rhode Island, CVS, and Lifespan to name just a few. Paul Salem has helped create an incredibly vibrant program in our great city and is also centrally involved in making this a key program nationally, as well.

The New York Times recently featured YearUp and Paul and we couldnâ€t be more pleased calling YearUp – a “home run.† In addition, The Atlantic featured YearUp as well.

This year, YearUp Providence achieved 100% outcomes which included full-time employment at an average of more than $16.50 or full-time higher education.  That is an incredible accomplishment.  We couldnâ€t be more pleased with this statistic but we are not stopping here.  There are still many more young adults in need.  With your help and support we can push the envelope even further.
